Wirelessly Transmit CAN Bus via WLAN Networks
Summary:
- Plug'n'Play: Simply set the baud rate and, if necessary, WLAN parameters (SSID and password).
- Transparent Transmission: Independent of 'higher' protocols.
- Bidirectional Communication.
- Point-to-Point or Long-Distance Communication Across Company Networks.
Applications:
- Cost or inflexibility prevents cable installation.
- Distances between CAN participants are too extensive.
- Mobile participants (e.g., forklifts).
Description:
With Avisaro's IOT/M2M Gateway, messages can be bridged from one CAN bus to another through a local network (WLAN, LAN) and across the Internet. CAN messages are transmitted transparently and unchanged. Data can be transferred from one CAN participant to another (Point-to-Point) or from one CAN participant to multiple participants (Point-to-Multipoint). The data transfer is bidirectional.
This enables data to be transferred from a CAN bus to a PC or a mobile device. Since the CAN messages are transmitted in raw format, all 'higher' protocols are supported. Data sources can include industrial control systems, vehicle buses, and more.
